Its called business.
When you have so much dross as we do and for a player who is a guranteed sick note at any time of the season we should be taking any offer we can and certainly shouldn't be holding out for more.
Anyways last post since this is the Lookman thread.

Wrong.Palace bid 8 million for McCartney,we asked for ten.
I simply refuse to believe that, because I cannot fathom Everton being dumb enough to reject a deal like that for the useless constantly-injured get.

On the other hand, we do have form.

....Charlton Athletic apparently take more than £1m of any fee.

Fairly standard and likely to be factored into the initial fee (which was somewhere between 7-9 million). I'd imagine they'd have a 10% sell on fee inserted with seems to be the place for all deals now, as I imagine we will have too.

I'm waiting to see the final figures, suspect when more respected figures report the deal (not sky sports) it will be closer to 25 million in total.

Kind of a shame the club has folded though

We wanted 25 and now we're getting 16

Red Bull's have won this battle pretty handily

Sky are saying up to 22.5 aren't they? Most deals are structured without it all up front? I will wait to see more concrete news though as in truth I don't trust Sky who seem miles behind. I imagine we get 25 million but some of it will be with add ons, and will almost certainly have a sell on fee of around 10%. (I suspect Vlasic's is higher as we made a point of mentioning it).

I understand we wanted £30m and they offered £18m and have since dropped it to £12m . Charlton are furious because now they will only get £11m and we will get £1m.That is what Al Jazeera said on their sports bulletin from Oman or is it Abu Dhabi or Iraq? No add ons mentioned.

Charlton have 15% of any profit in their sell on deal i believe. Like you though ill wait for the official announcement, cue undisclosed fee.

We bought him as potential, we are selling him as potential, he simply has not progressed and we are making a slight profit on a player who barely played, that's the stupid world of football transfers. You don't need to play for your value to increase, Barca seem to be masters at it.

Spot on, we can't really be offended by a lower than expected fee for a player that we weren't giving game time.

If he fulfills his apparently elusive potential and triples in value in a few years, that's down to Leipzig

And we are still waiting to get rid of a few more...

Just get on with the deals and get rid. It’s 16 days till the window slams shut.
