Hmmm....

I'd like to think that everyone on here treats everyone else as they would like to be treated.

That said, if someone steps out of line as per the forum rules, then they'll be reminded.

Is that a problem?

Frankly, I don't care where someone comes from to this forum. If they feel that they can flout forum rules, have a go a posters, and wind people up in general, then they'll have to deal with a moderator or an admin.

Simple really.

wasn't having a pop at admin or you, but some posters acted like morons...

I understand.

If a poster starts to get out of line, regardless of long time GOT poster or new member, I'd like to think that we'd handle the situation fairly.

Most of the time i'd say thats true.

I will say though that there is a slight tendency to be a bit harsh on new posters sometimes when the same comment from a more established poster would be treated differently. But thats just human nature really and is to be expected.

This forum is by far one of the fairest and friendliest i have ever been on so if you find yourself not fitting in then the problem is with you.

Please feel free to stick around though.

We'll take all Everton supporters from anywhere and any walk of life.

Glad to have you. (y)

I can't speak for the other moderators but I can for myself.

When a new poster starts their new GOT posting life by having a go at any other GOT members and really isn't contributing much other than winding people up, then yes, we may have a shorter fuse than with a more established poster.

A few weeks back, a new poster, who will rename nameless, had about 5 posts under his belt and all but one of them were pretty much antagonistic towards another poster's opinion. Several forum rules were violated. He got a short ban (since lifted) and is free to come back and give it another try if he so chooses.

That was probably an extreme example as that rarely occurs. I was a fairly new mod at the time so I probably could have handled it a bit differently and just given him a verbal warning at first. Call it learning on the job.

If a more established member made similar statements, yeah, sure, they might be treated a little differently due to their posting history. But that still doesn't mean that they could continue to do it. At some point, an admin or mod would probably step in and ask them to tone it down.

The most important thing for admins and mods is to make sure that everyone feels that their opinion, whether widely shared or they're the only one that has it, is able to be aired without having to worry about a torrent of abuse.

Yeah, it's on thing if someone comes on and posts, "I love Liverpool FC and Everton are [Poor language removed]." Well that'll get dealt with as it should.

But for the most part, we don't want the forum to turn into a giant slanging match. I'm not saying or implying that other forums are that way since I haven't been on other Everton forums.

Just my opinion.

Is that a dig at me?

dig? Suggestion.

Im all against Kirkby, I dont know how many times i've gone around in circles talking to Danny about it on msn, but regardless of how a site is i'll keep my opinions and air them instead of "Well they dont like No voters so i wont say anything" infact im more up for speaking up about my views on the matter on a site which is more for then against.
