I need to have a play about with the adverts folks - so please be patient.

The priority will always be to not make them intrusive. If they are, people will reach for adblock and who can blame them?

Our average visit/session time is over 11 minutes so nobody has got time to click around and be bothered by ads for 11 minutes.

My hope is a new one (that sticks to the bottom on desktop/big devices) and one that sticks to the bottom for guests (people not logged in) on any device on any device will negate the need for ads like the very top one in the header that I've just removed as it was a bit annoying, slowed the forum down a little bit and made us buttons.

It's a bit fiddly changing ads, and permissions around those ads so don't get on my case too quick please.

Some ads will go, some others will come in.

Now that I am trying out the iPad….. defo preferred the top ads.

I had the same lag as @TommyDavo that lead to wrong thread selection but even so I still preferred the top ads, this bottom one is very intrusive. Particularly as I tend to read with bifocal glasses on so bottom half of screen is the bit I focus on.

Just to add my voice to those saying I much preferred the top ad.

I've never minded any ads before this new one at the bottom. If there needs to be one there, perhaps don't animate it in, and minimise the wasted space around it by canning the translucent wavy box?

Top ads are the top. Says it all, really. Not a fan of the kilroy ads popping up myself.

I think this is a good idea. I'm all for helping the site, hence why I pay for forum support and player sponsor, so the ads on top do feel a bit of a nuisance.

The ads have ruined the site. Keep getting 'page not responding' every time I click on something new.

No way to move it to the left/right of the screen? You scroll down reading messages you see, thus it is more in the way. It being wavy somehow makes it harder to just pick a point above it to read from.

Yeah that one at the bottom is a proper nuisance that you have to close every time you change page or refresh. Combined with the other that's a huge chunk of screen real estate taken up by ads.
