A portion of the Northern Irish population identify as being British and a portion identify as being Irish. Everyone is entitled to both passports. If Duffy and Gibson identify as Irish then as far as I'm concerned they are regardless of what side of the border they were born on.

Where did this issue come from anyway?? And why are you trying provoke an argument by saying that the Irish don't have any national pride?

To be fair, some of the diaspora went to other places too like. My parents came across to Liverpool. Sh*t happens.

Aiden McGeady's time at Celtic was clouded by all sorts of sectarian nonsense.

He's a class player in some eyes and a pile of crap in others. Can we not just focus on his footballing ability (or lack of) and leave it at that?

Probably because we built both cities and feel they are our own.

Long standing strong connection with both of those American cities and Ireland due to the amount of Irish settling there from the famine times.

I never watch Celtic at all but know plenty who do. One thing I will always remember is the response I got when I said "he has no end product" watching him play for Ireland. My mate was saying to me that McGeady had the highest cross completion in the SPL pretty much every year he was at Celtic. That surprised me a lot. I really think his direct approach is something that would fit in well with this team now, especially his cutbacks from the byline.

Mate of mine played with him at Celtic, said he is an unbelievable talent and would easily do well for us.
