Has anybody ever been to or even considered the Albanian Riviera for holiday? Myself and the other half will be moving from our present home later this year hopefully and did not want to spend much on getting away this summer, long story short she seen an advert for Albanian holidays and we started looking. Wow they are cheap and I'm seriously tempted to give it a whirl based on the size of your bang for your buck. Btw I've been to Albania before for a football match, in and out job and found it grand, that was in the north of the country and just stayed a day but would be great to hear from people who had a holiday there or looked into having a holiday there.

Lots of Greek and Roman ruins, for example :

At the other extreme, there are thousands of pill boxes, built by Enver Hoxha, the paranoid Communist dictator.

Famed for it's clan feuds. Home to one of Europe's last pristine wilderness '.
I've been fascinated by Albania since I stumbled on Radio Albania during the Cold War, and listened to their not subtle propaganda. Became a member of the Albanian Society, a niche society if there ever was, enjoy yourself.

Is it down in or near Sarranda? It’s been coming on there. Just do with an open mind.

Really well worth going. Go to Berat for the day, a World UNESCO Heritage Site and The City of a Thousand Windows (although nobody ever counted!).

Apollonia on the way there is well worth going for it's Greek ruins.

Google Albanian Trip, they do really good tours and Georgi the main guy there is brilliant.
