The way our Alcohol tax is headed plus cost of living, most pubs here will be half empty as well.Went out last night for first time since end of November…… wish I hadn’t now, my local was dead …. Won’t be out again for a while
My local is about the cheapest pint in town .. and to be honest it’s the best too. It’s just out of town and it’s not everyone’s cup of tea as it has a history of being known as a man’s proper pub…. Obvs times have changed but some people still won’t come in there . It’s been owned the past 20 years by my mate and his wife and it has a very loyal core of locals that keep it going, Sharon the landlady is really good too and often puts on special promotions such as £2.50 a pint all day Wednesdays or something. Last night I went there about 6 and it was packed, by 9pm there were 4 of us left there, I was home before 10pm.The way our Alcohol tax is headed plus cost of living, most pubs here will be half empty as well.
3rd highest duty in the world behind Iceland and Norway. The way our Alcohol tax is headed plus cost of living, most pubs here will be half empty as well.
Mate told me another hike was coming and I couldn't believe it, so quick after the last.3rd highest duty in the world behind Iceland and Norway.
63% of the price you pay is now duty...another rise in May and iirc, another after that.
