Thought so mate. It's been next to me since opend an has been in the wine rack an not the fridge. Is a splendid tipple, iv decided to have cheese an crackers with it!!

You'd taste it if it had gone off, mate. Tends to be that most wine is better consumed within about 3 years of bottling. Exceptions are the expensive [Poor language removed] which improves with age and can be kept for about 10 years or so. A good Pauillac, for example, would, if kept properly, be nicer the longer you kept it. So a 1998 would just be ready now. But a 1988 would be getting past its best. A Beaujolais, on the other hand, should be taken as soon as possible. There's a lot of bull spoken about wine, though. Drink what you like.
