Everton Alumni Alessandro Pistone

Wasn't he LB during that season we got 4th? IIRC He was easily the most improved player that season. He definitely had a season at LB, a foreshadowing moment for Moyes using a naturalised CB at fullback and them being a success.

Also I believe there is a story involving a car but I can't quite remember it and might be crossing a memory.

I'm pretty sure he was always a full back though?

Oh yeah I remember Dunc forced him to drive to Glasgow because the big man needed some pies. They bonded during the journey after never getting on at Newcastle and he ended up being godfather to one of his kids.

Would make a great movie tbh

Pistone also owns and runs a restaurant in Milano near Central Station, Italy, which specialises in Saveloy Dip

I now wish I had the amnesia some in this thread have. Damn that's grim.

Remember the wife & me going to the Joe parkinson testimonial we went to the players
Entrance and this guy was standing by the entrance the wife asking who he was
He had piercing blue eyes every time his name came up the wife would
Always comment on his looks

That was the goal. Recall him being interviewed afterwards and he said he was actually right footed!

Being more charitable to Pistone, I remember watching us in the home leg vs Villarael in the Champions league and thinking "him and Areta are the only players with the technique for this level". Dunc as well when he came on.

Sadly a generally weak as piss defender.

He got injured in the warm up before what was going to be his debut, started and was forced off after 7 minutes and spent the rest of the season recovering. When his contract expired we wanted to give him a 1 year deal, he wanted 2 years, we released him, couldn`t find a replacement, offered him his 2 year deal, he signed and picked up an injury. At least that`s how I remember how his time here went.
We played Fulham at Loftus road in a cup replay and he lined up at LB, but seemed to think he was a center half as he spent most of the time in that position leaving acres of space in the LB position for any Fulham player wanting to get a cross in.
