Even if that's true, which it isn't, the other half he moves the ball forward and opens teams up. Bernard and Gylfi have great first touches and do nothing. Thus my confusion on why anyone cares about first touch.
It's pretty straightforward, if you lose possession because of a terrible first touch it puts you on the backdoor, players are likely to be out of position and increases the chances of us conceding a goal. Happy to clear that up for you.

I think it’s a different opinion tbf, I think he can be useful but also wasteful at times, wasn’t a fan of him at arsenal either but I’m hoping he’l improve

And if you have a good first touch you can still do that with your second third and fourth touches.

Lukaku is our best player of the last 5-10 years and had a questionable first touch. People didn't like him because of that. Dom has been our best player the last two weeks. Also a bad touch at times. But everyone loves Bernard because he controls the ball well? Yeah I don't get it.

Lukaku played centre forward, when he lost the ball we had another 10 players behind the ball most of the time. If Iwobi loses it in the centre of the park, where you are insistent that he must be played, then the consequences can be much more stark. I would like someone with a good first touch and can also pick a pass but I don't have a "love Iwobi/hate Bernard" agenda to push.

It's a general thing with me not seeing good first touch as something that I care about. It doesn't make or break a player.

Watching lukaku try to control a ball some weeks was embarrassing but by god I’d love him back, proper goal scorer which is hard to come by.

Yes because Messi isn't the best in the world at anything else. His only skill is he can control the ball when played to him.
Listen mate, you're the fella on here saying controlling a football isn't an important skill for a professional footballer whilst persistently slagging off other footballers for all kinds of spurious nonsense. Maybe you should have yourself a big gulp, a breakfast burrito and have a little lie down.

No I'm not. I'm saying that it's one of many skills and being slightly lacklustre can be a non issue if you do a lot of other things well. And that is Alex Iwobi.

On the other side if it is one of your few skills you can be more or less useless. This is what I see in Bernard.
