If the manager stays with two up-front then he might fit in playing on the right but
he definitely has been dissappointing. He seems to have the goods but he somehow
has consistently underperformed.

If he does stick with Iwobi then getting a genuine, fast winger on the left will be important.

Still a young player and I hope he can grow into the position but at this point who knows?

Are they expensive?
Do they appear to be a bad fit?
Were they signed out of the blue?
Was it late in the window?
Were lots of people left scratching their heads and confused?
See here's the thing: those have happened for good signings.

Expensive: Richarlison
Do they appear to be a bad fit: Since that's about half our signings at least pre Brands, I'm not sure if this is a sign of panic signings, unless we always were panicking.
Out of the blue: IIRC Bernard took about 48 hours from first report to holding the shirt.
Late in the window: We signed Barry and Rom on the same deadline day
Scratching heads: Gana

Fellaini also fits all those criteria.

With Iwobi we need to see where Ancelotti wants to play him and if hes still here next season im confident that he'll have a defined role.

Hes been injured and shifted around.

Imagine if Iwobi settled in like Pulisic has.

I don't get where the idea that he stinks has come from. I'm not saying he's world class or anything like that, but he's done fine enough. Granted he hasn't done much lately as any player would when out injured.

Is the UK press pushing this narrative or something? I'm so confused as to why it keeps popping up.

But... he really hasn't.

Me personally I just take a dislike to a player and ride them hard.

I thought he looked ok the first few games but as you say hes had a period out injured and hes struggling a little at the minute.

I just dont see where he fits into the side and at times he appears very wasteful with the football and my eyes tell me he loses possession a lot, but then so do most of our players in the final 3rd.

Sadly I think we have paid a LOT of money for a very average player and as somebody who has an agenda to push regarding Brands I do not say that lightly.

But hes very young and we have a wonderful manager, if Carlo cant get a tune out of him nobody can and I dont mean this season, with every signing I do like to give them plenty of time to bed and leave a mark and Iwobi hasnt really had that yet.

The reason I go hard on Iwobi mostly is my first sentence.

I was more talking about Pulisic at Chelsea. I thought that's what the other guy meant when he said Chelsea overestimated the Bundesliga.

Anyway on Iwobi, he's not playing so well, but he's also not playing poorly either imo. No one seems to care that he's really good in the middle third even when he's struggling in the final third. Which is odd, because with guys like Gomes and Bernard who have fit that description at times it is never a problem. The giving the ball away thing isn't supported by the numbers, which I know everyone hates, but whatever it isn't true.

I actually appreciated that he got a couple of shots away last game even if the first one probably was the wrong choice. Too often we rely on Dom, Richarlison and set plays to be the goal scoring. We're going to need complimentary scoring and that requires other guys to shoot. Just needs to be at the right times.

He should play with Bernard. It's been a loooong time since they have, and I think that it worked well before.
