El pivote has at least admitted he’s been poor and probably doesn’t suit 442. While Ryan is still fighting his corner.

I wouldnt say foolish. People get things wrong on players all the time. Part and Parcel of football. No1 has 100% record on getting players right. I have never claimed to be right all the time

Without Stats/Data Liverpool wouldnt be winning the League, so the perceived slight of using them in players analysis for me is a bit silly

Iwobi doesnt suit 442. Its up to Carlo to decide whether he tries to make him adapt to the LM role next season. We cant replace every issue we have with a new player. Players need to be developed and take to the next level or Ancelotti is not doing his job properly.

Is the option there to just cut our losses? Would he leave. He is not going to get a better set up and money that hes on now.
For me he has to be 1 of at least 4 or 5 that are shown the door. All the best and all that but you've no future here.
 
He looks a bit over weight to me. He's obviously asked to do a lot of defensive work in the 442 role, but even when he's on the ball he looks far from a top level footballer. Everton's record of spending money has been really poor, it seems we used the market better when we were skint.
 

Would love to see him played in an attacking CM role with Holgate alongside him for the remaining games this season...He is not suited to a wide midfield role that requires the defensive duties that go with it in the Everton formation

100%. We made the money work. Got a bit of money and went out and spent it on garbage like this.
No bigger fool than....you know the rest.
 
Think he's got a future if Carlo looks to play 3-5-2 when we have the ball. Pushing the LB to LM, it allows Iwobi to play further advanced and hopefully link up play which he's pretty good at. Plus he can get around the pitch. Not sure we should be letting anyone of that ilk go right now.

I could see him at Bournemouth or maybe Watford if they stay up, but he'd struggle for starts among the rest of the bottom half.

I think he'll get another season sitting on his arse here, and then he'll begin the cycle of going out on loan to a progressively worse team each summer.

We can't really do that and not have even bigger FFP troubles. So no cutting our losses isn't really an option unless we can find someone who will pay close to or more than what we did.

The things Iwobi can do when he is playing well are certainly skills that are at an extreme premium in our squad. He's just not playing well at all currently.
