Yeh defensively he was woeful, and it wasn't helped that City did all their attacking down that side for much of the game.

But going forward he had an impact - when he moved centrally.

He does all the things Bernard allegedly does plus offers an actual threat in the box. Iwobi is a step above everyone but Richarlison as far as attacking players in our squad go. Him not playing from the start is us just choosing not to be as good as we can be. Silva needs to stop doing it.

No. As I said on the Brands thread just now - that method will work once or twice but wont on the majority of occasions. For every Digne there'll be a Mina and Iwobi and Gbamin. Even Gomes looks less than top quality. Too inconsistent.

Brands has a template for players and that has its weaknesses as well as strengths.

.Yes, the DoF role is a BS role and ineffectual. Look where we are: with a first team that's pretty ropey after he spent over £200M on it.

Tbh he's looked awful the last two or three games, no way we should be dropping Bernard for him. In fact too many of our players are playing because of their price tag alone.
Keane, Schneiderlin, Sigurdsson, Walcott and I'm afraid on current form Iwobi. Drop Keane for Holgate, more aggression and speed in the centre right away. Bernard back on the left, give Iwobi a run in Sigurdsson role. And until the rest of our midfielders are fit put Davies in over Schneiderlin, who adds nothing to the team imo.
