He dribbled through 3 players like a resurrected George Best tonight. Such quick feet. Lacks football intelligence though. Remember Peter Beagrie? Can Carlo improve him because if he does mature and settle down he will be a great asset.

Was proper rubbish tonight, and against United as well. The effort is always there but often the quick-mindedness isn't. He makes runs yet never seems to know what he wants to do with it, absolutely everything just seems winged (hence why he's so often caught down blind alleys). He's got the skill and frame to be a top player but loses the ball far too often all because he doesn't decide want he wants to do with it until it's too late. That can be taught, but only if a player has brilliant coaching. We have to hope.

He really does have skill and clearly knows how to play football, but his final ball makes me want to do a big cry.

He just can't cross, it's so frustrating. Not even in the "can't beat the first man" type of way, but the "can't lift it off the ground or steer it even remotely in a useful direction" sort of way. He's full of effort and genuine skill, but it's a serious shortcoming for a player who plies most of his trade out wide

I reckon 1 in 20 of his crosses goes where he intends it to, it’s so frustrating because he has it in him to be a really effective player.

An easy solution to this of course is to stop making him play out wide which I think is really possible but seems like something Carlo is genuinely uninterested in. I mean we had some chances in preseason and possibly the League Cup games and he use Bernard centrally instead and even Gordon once. I don't get it really because the idea of having Bernard central against a PL midfield seems nuts to me but Iwobi can be trusted at RB so clearly central midfield is within range.

A bit of a mixed performance from Iwobi against Sheffield Utd I thought. He's getting himself into good positions but his crosses are more hit and hope rather than trying to pick anyone out. That's fine if we have a load of our players in the opposition penalty area, not so good when there's pretty much only Dominic Calvert-Lewin in there on his own to pick out. Love seeing him take on players in the box though. If he can do that more during games, I'm sure he could earn a few penalties for us.

His work rate can't be faulted but he's a very unusual player. Plays like a kid sometimes. That moment in the first half where he sliced a left footed ball over our defence for a throw in would be poor from a non league player. He has improved but as previous posters have written needs coaching. If he sticks to the basics a very good player in there. Apparently he started off as a Striker but that's hard to see at present.
