I genuinely don’t think he’s a better right winger than Walcott, which says it all really. Being a bit silky and skilful on the ball every now and then isn’t enough, we need a goal threat from that position
Guru

You have to look at the Walcott, playing at this moment for Southampton, committed, dangerous, getting stuck in etc. And the Walcott we had, uninterested, on the bench or usually dragged off, no where near the commitment he's now showing for Southampton.
Is there something wrong in our training regime at Finch Farm ? So many teams seem quicker, stronger have more stamina than us, you see players from other teams, just passing us by, even Rotherham the other day. Our passing at times is atrocious, but this just isn't this season, even though, the new signings and the emergence of DCL have helped us immeasurably when fit. We also as a team lack real pace and I'm hoping this is remedied in either this transfer window or the next.

Is that more of an indicative of our FBs not being up to it?
Well you could put Digne’s poor display down to Carlo, it was patently obvious from the start of the game that Digne wasn’t match fit yet the manager kept him on as if he was oblivious to the fact, it wasn’t the only thing he got wrong, thecwhole team selection was poor, and didn’t see any recognisable plan, Knounkou should have been on long before he was brought on and offered strength and some purpose to that position after Gordon’s brief bright start had long filtered out and Gomes start never got lit, don’t see the point of him being selected, offers very little, mind you there wasn’t much to get excited about yesterday, another pathetic performance.

....two or three passes behind their full-back to put Coleman in we’re really sublime. Delivered with perfect weight and accuracy, but he needs to do more. Rarely see him bombing into the box when the ball is on the other wing, he should watch Richarlison.

If only he could get his final ball / assists and shots to a similar level of productivity.
interesting how you often hear DoF or mangers talking about different profiles of players, Iwobi certainly brings something no one else really has in our squad with 1 on 1’s and the ability to carry the ball up the pitch.

His actual use of the ball is better this season but the fact he’s not scored a goal in over a year is surely a huge issue?

He scored v Fleetwood but yeah, he's no real goal threat.

He just needs to have more self belief. There's quality there but God his decision making is dismal whenever he has time on the ball - or 9/10. When he goes on instinct I don't mind, because it tends to get the best out of him.

I will stress that I mean when he's attacking. Defensively he's done well and helped us hang onto the ball when needed.

At least he loses the ball higher up the pitch. Thats the most positive you can say about the guy. For the rest it is a big fat zero...

When all our players are fit he should start for me. James as the furthest forward of the midfield 3 and Iwobi on the right.

He's shown he has the ability to drive and create, I just thought the heart wasn't there, but thankfully his attitude has greatly improved.
