2020/21 Alex Iwobi

It’s not his numbers that concern me. It’s his lack of ability to even do the basics well. He’s a disaster most times out. Had maybe 2 good performances all of last season?
I suppose it's easier to do the basics well in a more stable environment. Ultimately tactics and coaching matter, and we have a new manager of varying ineptitude every year who gives him 1 or 2 games in one position before he's dropped or moved to somewhere else on the pitch.

Arsenal knew how to get something out of his admittedly very limited skillset, we're just too dysfunctional to figure out how and always have bigger problems to adress. Nobody thinks he's any good anyway at this point even if it's obviously possible to get more from him, but how much more is that realistically going to be if his ceiling isn't very high? A poor signing, not because Iwobi is uniquely terrible but because it's just another indication of how much of a mess we are in terms of planning and recruitment

He forgot to add getting paid obscene wages for little effort in his career achievements
It's not effort. It's lack of ability. Iwobi sums up the state of the modern game. 100m for Jack Grealish. Dearie me. Messi can't stay because Barcelona are effectively broke. Average players earning over 50k a week. TV subscriptions in the hundreds each month. The whole thing is a circus.

I don't blame Iwobi. If mugs want to play him ludicrous money, that's not his fault.

I actually don’t think effort is his problem. Seems to be a hard worker unless I’ve missed something.

He lets runners go so many times by switching off.
And i dont think ive ever seen him go into a tackle with any intention of really wanting to win it.
He looks like a player playing in a 5-A side game on a full sized pitch.
Really depressing we may have to suffer another season of him.
No fight
No passion
No heart.
No contribution
If i could describe in two words how drastically wrong Everton have got it in recent years those two words would be Alex Iwobi.

That's probably the best description i've seen of him

This all day.
Our ability to spend money has been matched by inability to of how to spend money.
