A good starting point would be putting him on a diet so he's able to move a bit more freely. Totally unprofessional of him to be in the physical state he's in where he can't even attempt to take on a player as an attacking midfielder.

Wouldn't be so crass as to claim racism but I wonder if perhaps the transfer fees play a part. If Iwobi was free and Bernard cost £30m would opinions be different?

Did you even read my post? I said I wouldn’t bring racism into it. I only mention it because I have seen others claim that when people criticise him.

For me Gordon has to play. Has looked the most promising as has the most to gain from the minutes on the pitch.

Atleast Bernard tries to win the ball back, even if he's as effective at it as trying to fight of a bear with a wet noodle. Iwobi makes James look like Ghana defensivly but doesn't offer anything going forward

Hes more suited playing centrally and deeper, would have been better served playing in gylfy’s role and playing Gordon or Nkounkou higher up the pitch who are more direct in my opinion.

Using Iwobi as an outlet is just the same as booting the ball straight into touch for an opposition throw in... The opposition will always get the ball.

In fact, booting it out for a throw in is MORE use as at least we get a few seconds to get into position as a team rather than that ball bag losing it and them breaking on us immediately.

I understand why he started, as he’d been one of the main guys coming on in games.

But you’ve got to think tactically, he was always going to effect us negatively when Southampton play a high line with slow defenders.
