Funny how our attacking midfielder Iwobi gets slated for not winning challenges, but our 'centre midfield maestro' Gomes who is quite literally *nearly the worst player in the top 5 leagues* for getting dribbled past gets a free pass.

The double standards in a fanbase once a narrative gets going are truly staggering. Happens everywhere tho

Better run them over to ancelloti and tell him to play him.

He was not up to scratch last year, but he’s been played out of position.Another no 10 Played out wide with an awful centre mid combination.
The new style will suit him better, but I don’t think he’ll get much time.
Better for his career if he moves on.

It isnt just last year though. I work with fans from various clubs. Few arsenal. I swear the day we signed him they couldnt stop laughing.
Doesnt matter anymore though. He wont get game time. The big transfer push by ancelotti is because he knew we had crap. Him being one. Worst in my eyes.

He played 35 times in his last Arsenal season. They ave a squad with much more depth than us, so that tells me he was not as bad as he has been with us.
 

Bit soon to sell him would like to see him get mins on the left or in the three in midfield. Then again if we get a good offer we probably would sell

I still believe, in the absence of securing our number 1 target, we obviously tried to bring in someone with at least the right profile. It just hasn't worked out. Better players than Iwobi have failed at better teams. Sometimes, it just doesn't click. He is young enough and good enough to be a success somewhere else, but he's not not what we need right now.

I agree with this really.
It constantly amazes me that we buy players and play them out of position. He is not a wide player. He plays centrally and does one twos, flicks and pushes. His stats say that he looked for the forward pass. We put him in front of Coleman and expecting to do defensive duties and play as a winger.
It will be best result if he moves on, these mistakes do get made and the best thing to do is rectify them quickly.
 
Don’t think he is the worse of our problems and maybe Carlo get get some good out of him .. much happier if we offloaded Siggy and Davies Tbh ... think some of the shouts here are a bit unfair and I’m all for giving him a chance in the new regime ..
 

I thought he's been woeful since he came here tbh but I think Gomez was average after coming back from a serious injury but he was a different player on Sunday cos of the new additions to our team maybe it will bring the best out of the likes of iwobi only time will tell.....

I’d prefer to keep him. CA likes to change his tactics and I think AI will come in handy and will be improved because of a balanced midfield.

What were you citing when saying he hadn't gone past a player once if not your own 'stats'? Difference being they were factually wrong, of course
