He is genuinely awful in the middle of the pitch or when he has time. Most of his better moments come when he is forced to react quickly in the final 3rd, but those are too far and between because he doesn’t move about the pitch too well and rarely gets himself into dangerous positions.

This, good observation mate, he flatters to deceive, shows flashes of good play when he needs to show quick feet but is awful when he has time on the ball and the play does slow up when he is in possession.
When all that is said he played a part on Saturday but a half decent game now and again isn't good enough.

His through ball to Richy was class and he has rare moments like that, but if the once in a blue moon moments are all he offers and he holds us back in games due to his incompetence ala Gomes, he shouldn’t be seeing regular minutes.

He played fine on Saturday. He's put in lots of poor performances in the past, but the City game was absolutely not one of them.

He played a ball into Doucoure in the box that got trampoline shinned right to City. Wasn't anything special but we've had a crippling inability to pass the ball to someone's feet in good areas so I notice when it happens.

Your right, also he looks so slow, but then you’ll see him make a run down the wing and he out sprints a FB. There is a decent player in there wish we could see more of that.
