Very good, who would you replace him with. And by the way no one was knocking on the door to get Peter Reid if I remember correctly, but I’m sure you will know better…l
Yes you are correct, nobody was knocking on the door for Peter Reid when Everton signed him, the simple reason was Peter was coming back from a very bad injury, before the injury Wolves had offered £600,000 for him we got him for a tenth of that, money well spent even though it was a risky chance that turned out well, Andy Gray was another risky transfer that benefited the Blues.

True both risky signings that came good, but that was decades ago, doesn't happen too often. Now we just turn fit players into crocks.

Not even a suggestion of anyone in for him as he enters the final year of his contract (with our offer laying on the table)
Sickening that yet another overly expensive and comparative flop looks like leaving for free at the end of the season.
Red echo story from July saying he wants to play in the champions league……
How about a few champions league level performances and a mere 6 or 7 goals in a season for a change if you’re so keen?

Id say Iwobi is one of the biggest problems in the squad.
Despite apparently being one of fittest he seems to slow out attacks down far too much. Have hi m out on the wing can do a job. Can't have him in the middle his favoured position he just does not have that footballing brain at this level to be consistent, the premier league is just to fast for him the majority of the time.

Against Lisbon, Onana showed flashes of having the distributive capacity to give Iwobi a sharp shove out of the first XI. The weighting on Onana's passing was much improved, and he was far more of a threat at the edge of the box.

If we can get some creativity along the flanks, between injured wingers healing up and players in, I suspect Iwobi becomes surplus to requirements. Which is as it needs to be, given the contract situation.

4 years of overall dross, Even during his “good” spell he wasn’t doing anything extraordinary.

He was doing OK, that’s it, just shows how poor our standards as a club and those around him are they it’s considered acceptable when that should be the bare minimum expected from a player with his fee.
