am I sure I want to like this post

Thing about the 'like' button is that if you 'like' a post then other people think you agree with what is posted but a lot of what I 'like' is because the post has made me laugh... sometimes even out loud but I wouldn't agree with the post one iota, so I would like to be able to acknowledge that it made me laugh rather than 'liking' it and others thinking I'm just agreeing with the post.

I find this largely agreeable

This is a great point.

We should have different levels of 'Likes'.

'Like'

'LOLed'

'Dislike'

'DIAGF'

It won't be abused as it isn't anonymous and it makes perfect sense.

I urge all the mods @Tubey @chicoazul @Pat's Van @veronica loren MAKE THIS HAPPEN PLEASE

.

yeah to expand on @bignev23 's point a bit, it's difficult when someone on here posts a bit of a tearjerker thread about the loss of a close family member or loved one, or even perhaps the demise of a particularly loyal hound, I then press like as a way of expressing my sincere condolences but then I think "oh dear, what if OP thinks I like the fact that he or she is in mourning" when I can actually assure you that's never the case....that's what I don't like

...well I do "like" it but I don't literally like it, well I suppose I do "like" it literally but not figuratively... oh FFS I'm rambling now

either way get rid of it
