Rather gamble on a youngster with massive potential and even if it doesn't work be able to get the money back ( see Moise kean, onrekyu, vlasic etc ) then go and blow money on average "proven" players and be saddled with them until the contracts runs out

I see what you mean but all we can do is wish the lad the best. He’s only 20, will likely take time to settle in as well so it’s important the fans give him that time.
