Maybe it's years of Everton messing things up affecting my belief , but I am not buying that a Ligue 1 football club of Lille's stature are unable to process a transfer over the weekend because people aren't working. There has to be more to this.

French Laws for you, businesses aren’t permitted to contact employees at weekends, I would assume that includes admin at football clubs
