2022/23 Amadou Onana

Excellent tonight. Showed how much he was missed against Brighton. Having a back 3 helped as it meant they could get the ball to him more frequently with some neat triangles. Thought we showed more urgency in moving the ball than in recent games. Far less pointless sideways passing across the back. Onana will massively benefit from this- and he made some outstanding tackles.

Outstanding performance. Wins every 50/50, and saved us from trouble several times with good sliding tackles. Also he uses his first touch to take himself away from pressure. Sign of a quality player with a good footballing brain.
Matched with a quality ball playing partner, he could be anything.

He gets it back, uses his first touch and gets it to a creative midfielder who can then pull the strings. A one two punch that we can only dream about unfortunately...

That is it is what this mid 3 is missing have no cm who can keep the ball and control passing for the team

It's early for him still but this actually looks a good singing, problem is a squad is only as good as the weakest player and same for a midfield.

Awful 1st half was better in the 2nd.
Appreciate that he's a young player with potential but in our position and for the money paid I expected much much better.

Young lad he will be decent player with more experience
This is my take on it. He's had some questionable performances since being here, but I liked how he upped his performance in the second half.

Overall, I think he played well. We can't forget that he wasn't a long-standing regular for Lille either, so he is still developing his overall game - that'll take time.

Seems to be getting to grips more with the pace of the game in England. Moving the ball quicker too. has great technical quality this lad. Would like to see him pushed more forward.
