Maybe I’m getting sucked in by the euphoria of a win but these two reels are making me see him in a different light. I’m sure he still sees us as a stepping stone, but maybe he’s a bit more committed than I gave him credit.

I don't mind players who see us as a stepping stone. If they perform the best they can so they end up at a massive club and not a sideways one to the horse punchers, keep their mouth closed and stay humble - if a dream move comes along that gets us a bucket load of cash then go with my best wishes.

Definitely a stepping stone.

Hopefully he finds the balance of being ambitious, and fighting for his team mates.

It’s seldom seen but I think the lad can do it.

He’s a talented player. Was great today watching him press and drive forward with the ball.

He’ll irks to try and make things happen and I like that!
He played as good as that v Southampton - under Frank we got beat .... the difference today he was outstanding & the team played his way - positive - Dyche just put a team out there who knew how to play cohesive football - I think we would have given any team in the prem a run for their money today -

He is some player though -

At the age of 21 he has the energy to get around. Today he influenced the battle with his presence. The best players have the uncanny knack of being at the critical point at just the right time. The thing that gets me. He already shows an allegiance to the cause. UTFT ?⚪️.

We also need to be careful with the yellow cards...he is on 6 already and will probably pick up another in the derby...10 cards is 2 games suspension so hopefully we manage that a bit better so that those 2 games out happens against opposition away from home where you have no real chance to win.
There is nowhere we cant win

I think today we played a bit like Arsenal do.

I know it sounds mad, but first example, Iwobi got the ball on the right wing and knew he had 2,3 fast touches maximum. Instead of playing it safe and essentially going backwards, he decided to use his touches to adjust his body and play it down the line.

It could have gone wrong but I wouldn’t criticise him for trying. I watched arsenal v United and arsenal gave it away loads but they kept on going and that mentality is seeing them top of the league.

Iwobi had to have faith that our players were overlapping but bottom line is that is the right thing to do, Goodison wants to see it, it’s positive and attack minded even if it’s just over the half way line.

I saw this mentality from lots of our players today, closing down, doubling up. Saka is amazing. He didn’t have an “off” game. Myko and McNeil just doubled up.

someone started a thread about “if you were Everton manager today what would you do?” And I typed a load of turd but said the manager should talk directly to the players and break that boundary. Your manager can’t be in a Castle, he has to be on the trenches.

First thing I hear is Dyche has done an anonymous questionaire for the players. It makes sense.

I don’t want to be one of those loons who can never be pleased. I just expect logic in approach. Logic doesn’t necessarily win games but is the closure I as a football fan need. It creates a balanced life.

Probably not how I intended that to read…. Not that we want players in that think they don’t have to put the hard yards in but that if you are a good player he’d be someone that you would want to play next to the f that make sense?
I think it made sense tbf. Someone that Ray Wilkins, Glenn Hoddle or Matt Le Tissier would be happy to play next to

He’s smart enough to know he will make it to the very top of the game but to do that he needs to play regular football in a top league.

Gordon might not be a star so he snided his way to take the money as quickly as possible and he’ll likely be a sub option but Onana is awesome and knows he’s better here playing every minute and giving everything he can so when he does get a big move in the future when he inevitably outgrows us, he’ll leave like Richy did and always be welcome back… hope that’s not for a few years yet though as I love to watch him play!

Everyone in here telling us he will turn on us and leave in 6 months, are the same guys who get a beautiful women and waste the whole time the have her complaining she will leave for someone better.
Everybody leaves, its a fact of life, but right now when we really need a catalyst, he is stepping up to be that. Lets enjoy him whilst we have him.
