I felt Garner added more on the ball thsn weve seen for a while. Onana defensively would have prevented a lot of the balls played into the forward players.

I think both players would do well to anchor the midfield rather than being players that press. So somewhat different to what weve had with Gana...which, for me just isnt effective in the last 3 games.

Not true, we were constantly expose by long diagonal ball even with onana playing every game and every minute.

And onana is the most static midfielder alongside Gana and Doucoure. You really need to open your eyes.

Hes quite literally the midfielder who moves into space....all the time. Like all the time.

Hes always available for a pass.

Static? Not for me.

Look at him when we don’t have the ball. You’d be shock by how clueless he is. Never cover passing option, half arse closing down and clueless positioning.

He likes to ask for the ball but too often chooses the easiest and safest option, sideways and backwards.

He had the physical abilities to impose games but he is only using half of what he is capable of.

Look at onana stats vs Liverpool at Goodison and you’d understand what I mean and what he is capable of. He never reach that height again and never came close.

We need him back simple. Garner did well first half but went missing in the 2nd. Our lack of depth on the bench was telling

I’m almost certain we are not utilising this player properly and have somehow made him worse

His debut against villa where he got only 9 mins he basically created our only goal with a surging run into the villa box and a cross which results in Digne scoring an own goal

Since then his only goal contributions have come against 20th placed Southampton

he should be getting more goal involvements and should be urged to be going forward more

Defensively minded and negative Everton is ruining him
