The kid is literally a posterboy for poor scouting combined with an overrated couple of seasons at a mid-sized club to 'earn' a big move

Hesitant here. It's a matter of whether he can rediscover his Valencia form, isn't it? And whether we're in the position of being able to take the risk on him as a club. He was very, very good there. His stock has fallen somewhat dramatically circa 2017. He's had everything from hamstring to groin to gastric problems stiffling his time at Barca (he's currently injured again by the way).

Not living up to Iniesta isn't an issue, players will fail at that for years to come. Marca's readers are the biggest gang of hivemind idiots in Spain. As Evertonians we should be used to that sort of thing by now ie. that lot over the park.

If it's a loan as muted, it could prove to be shrewd.

Turning our noses up at a lad who was boss at Valencia whilst our options for Saturday are Gueye/Schneiderlin/Besic/Davies.

Come on.

Our whole transfer history in the PL is made up of players who have had a good season or two at a lesser club, moved to a bigger club and failed, and then have been cast-off onto us.

What you’re saying about Gomes could literally be replicated for Schneiderlin. Just swap Valencia with Southampton and Barcelona with Man Utd.

And he wasn’t boss at Valencia. He was tidy and looked good on the eye, but contributed next to nothing.

No mate, he was boss for Valencia

Ok, you’re right. Cannot wait for his five goals and four assists for us over the next three seasons. Or maybe his 14 key passes.

If we’re lucky he will fire us to 12th like the did for Valencia in the two seasons before leaving. Lucky us.

I cant believe people still fall for this stuff. I really wish I got into this when it first began I would be rich for just doing spider graphs of stats that mean nothing.
