Hope you're right. He's great to watch and would be a huge loss if we can't get the deal done at the end of the season and he goes elsewhere.I honestly don't think it'd be good for anyone except Barcelona if he came out and said he wanted to stay.
As far as they're concerned if he hasn't shown he wants to stay desperately and we aren't desperate to keep him that'll keep all the fees at a minimum.
If Marco was gushing every week about how much we need to keep him and Gomes kept saying he wanted to stay Barca could drive the price up because they know we'd pay it and I wonder if Gomes saying things would do him much good, I'm not sure how something like a loyalty bonus or something like that could be effected.
Not sure why this is so hard to understand that he is not the only variable in a transfer, there are 3 parties for a deal to be done. If other clubs are willing to pay more then that will impact the outcome
If Spurs come in for Gomes he'll join them, and rightly so. He'd be mad to stick with us if he had the option of becoming a key player for Spurs.
Well, he's not going to have that option. He won't be a key player for them.If Spurs come in for Gomes he'll join them, and rightly so. He'd be mad to stick with us if he had the option of becoming a key player for Spurs.

Citeh. So that's Gomes and Richo the media have sold, were is Lucas going?

Let hope our board is being savvy and trying to get this sorted before his head is turned.
Most foreign players would rather play for a Champions League club in London (with the best stadium in the county and a great future ahead of them) over 9th place Everton in Liverpool.Sorry, but why exactly? He's settled here. Comfortable. He's got a head coach that speaks Portuguese. He's already been in a much bigger club than Spurs and didn't enjoy his time. Maybe Spurs will qualify for the CL. Maybe not. But I'm not sure Spurs has the cash to make too many moves.
Who would he play ahead of? Alli? Nope. Eriksen? Nope. Dier? Nope, he's not a 6. Sissoko? Moura? Son? No sure where he plays. Does he really want to sit on the bench?

I hope he stays. He would be a fantastic signing. But can't argue if he ditches us for a better club.
