The rags reporting that Spurs, Arse and Man U are in a tug of war over Tielemans.

So looks like Andre is safe ( for the time being )

It`s obviously Leicesters turn this week for players deemed to be too good for them to be sold by the rags.

Next week it`ll be Wolves / Watford - ( how dare they have players that should be playing for one of the media darlings )

Yeah its a worry, what will bug me is we give a player 12 months experience to adjust to the Premier League, then another team gets the benefit, same with Zouma

I'm not being horrible mate, but Mina walks into United's defence over Smalling or Jones.

I'd be wary of reading too much into this. You have to ask yourselves a number of things from the rumours.

1) Are tightfisted Spurs going to want to spend 30 million pounds on a lad who flopped at Barcelona and has trouble settling? Seems a rather large outlay.

2) Would Everton not be willing to match this? If so, would Gomes prefer Spurs to Everton? Is he likely to be starting, never mind have a team developed around him?

I think sides will look at Gomes, either for a loan, or a potential squad player. I fully expect him to be signed, but his agent/Barca will want to play up the interest in him. I'd keep going back to the above 2 points though.

....Gomes is a playmaker, he’s like a Quarterback who sets the tempo of the game and sprays short and long passes around the pitch. As I said before he played a game for us, he keeps both wide players in the game with his ability to knock passes with either foot to either wing.

Stats reveal assists, pity there aren’t stats about assisting assists. I imagine Gomes is at the core of many of our attacks.

They are working on a stat for that, called x-chain I think!

....absolutely. Being brave in possession and believing in your ability is so important, especially playing the top sides away from home. It’s clearly what Silva wants and why Gomes is on the same wavelength as Bernard.

This is underrated for me. He has it all for me. He's enough to hold people off, skilful enough to go past them and a quick enough runner than when past them them carry it forward. If you stand off him, he has a passing range that can switch the play. Some of the cross field balls to particularly Richarlinson were fantastic. A wonderful player.

For an opponent really difficult to play against, especially if you have Richarlinson & Dominic Calvert lewin who can stretch you the other way.

We saw a bit of this in the derby. Keane and to a degree Pickford (though his kicking was a bit wayward that day) beat the Liverpool press. As a team, there is only so often you will keep running forward to win the ball back, if you keep having to turn around and sprint 30-40 yards back in the other direction as Calvert Lewin maintains possession up the pitch. Two things generally occur, firstly you run out of steam, and secondly you just sit off the team. You saw this perfectly in the derby, where for the last half an hour Liverpool looked devoid of any idea what to do.
