I see your Dobbo and raise you a Paul Bracewell? Only one game I know but even playing within himself his postional sense both in attack and defence, how he got everything gong forward so swiftly and the nascent partnership with Gueye reminded me of Paul bracewell playing alongside peter Reid. Right or Wrong?

(And I get the many comparisons with Arteta)
Bracewell is, in my opinion, the most underestimated player to have ever played for us. Really unlucky with injuries curtailing his career at the top level. I'm liking this guy.

I'm loving all our summer signings, but strangely enough think the best is still to come. I just think Mina is going to beast it here and become a fans icon.

An interview well worth a read, about his situation at Barca last season. He seems to enjoy himself here, hopefully that'll continue.
That quote about closing himself off and not wanting to leave his house really hits home for me personally. Of all our new boys he's the one I most want to succeed even though he's only a loan. All that aside I also think he is the kind of midfielder we have been crying out for for years. Fingers crossed he settles well into the team after a promising (if a bit rusty) debut and finds a good home here.

My dad said he reminded him of Bracewell when we were at the Palace game. Way before my time so I wouldn't know, but a comparison to a player from one of our best ever teams can only be a good thing.

Paul Bracewell and Joe Parkinson, both underestimated in what they bought to the team, and sadly both shortened careers due to injury! And I think you may well be right about Yerry Mina!

Every time I've seen him in these BTS videos he just looks a total character. Can't wait for his first goal in front of the street end.

He was a terrific player. Very much the unsung hero in a great team. Instead of necessarily watching the ball instead if you watch Gomes’s movement, every time we have the ball he makes himself available in space such that he has options to move the ball forward. When the opposition has the ball he’s either winning it back or moving into the space where he predicts Gana or someone else will most need him after they’ve won the ball back.

That video is what makes us stand out as a football club. Considering 2 of those players are only here on loan, it shows have they are fully integrating and immersing themselves in the football club. Great for team spirit and also hopefully a good indicator that they are enjoying themselves at the club and might want to prolong their stay.

I'm always a bit against throwing all our love at a player from one performance, but jeez this guy here makes me feel good. Makes me feel good about our fans, and makes me want that whole positive vibe to grow and help him flourish.

I am so tired of the huge expectations and collective moaning weighing down on the heads of guys like Barkley or Davies or even Keane or Bainesy. Let's get behind someone for once.

I agree! It sounds like that's exactly what he didn't get at Barcelona and his form suffered as a result. Seems a great person though and a little backing is exactly what he deserves. I think we'll reap the reward if we do!
