A few points from that...

1. I'm only disagreeing with you, I'm not some simpleton who just can't understand.
2. You started off talking about Spurs controlling the post game narrative with their (cringey, poor taste) hourly updates in the well being of poor lickle Son. A narrative that, whilst I disagree with, I really don't see as having any impact on Everton football club. Maybe Gomes doesn't want to be used as a prop and just wants to crack on quietly with recovery. In any event jumping up and down shouting "we're the real victims!" is all a bit... Kopitey. I don;t care about narratives or how the story gets told in the press.
3. I genuinely don't believe referees are sat at home in the week thinking "I know I have to give a bad decision against somebody... But who?! Oh! I know! Everton! They won't kick up a stink!" Officals are incompetent rather than corrupt.
4. Let's say we do stamp our feet and cry about penalties given and not given by VAR over the last few weeks... What's the consequence? Do we get any points for it? Are the refs really thinking about the headlines when they're reviewing decisions? In my view it just becomes a distraction from the players performances and fosters a victim mentality.
Complaining is a bit Kopitey, you are right, just remind me again how they are doing? They'll bitch and moan about every little thing they perceive as against them, I can guarantee if there is a ref at home thinking who am I going to wrong this weekend, he's also thinking its certainly not going to be Liverpool I'd never hear the end of it. I'm not saying we should go to the extreme that they do but certainly strongly and publicly criticise refs and VAR if they do us wrong.

I don’t honestly think the 3 game ban was the issue (especially for Son), it was more having a red card offence which led to a player breaking his leg against his name. If I committed a yellow card offence (which many, myself included, feel it was) and a player broke his leg in freakishly unlucky circumstances, I wouldn’t want a red card on my CV next to that.
The ref had the yellow card out and only changed it when he saw the injury. Understandable he was moved by this as everyone else was but it really shouldn’t have influenced his original decision.

I thought initially they wouldn’t appeal the ban as it could look in bad taste given that Gomes is out for six months plus so what’s 3 games, but having a red card next to the incident I can see why he appealed it. Cliche, but Son is not that type of player. He has also been very apologetic about it since and comes across as sincere.
What do you mean Son is not that type of player, he's been sent off before for retaliation when he got angry..

In years to come, people will ask “who was the player that forced poor Son to break his ankle and caused Son so much heartache, almost ruining his season?”
I was thinking that earlier, in every case that involves that type of injury you always remember the victim, but not always the tackler, in this case it will be reversed.
