He probably did want to foul him, but its still a bog standard dodgy tackle we see all the time. Its not a leg breaker, he hasnt gone right into his achillies with his studs, its just a clip which in every other case results in a foul given, yellow card and time wasted.

Its a red because he is gone in fairly high and from behind.

The break is a very unfortunate part of it.

...I’m sure that’s right, but on this occasion the recklessness had a dreadful consequence. Red for me because of the outcome.

Looks like it has gone already in that clip to me. Hence why they stopped it there.

I’m the opposite, I don’t think so. I think that may have been strained ligaments if nothing else happened. just the power of Aurier going full throttle did the serious damage

I’m sure some sicko will have the video on Twitter, but I ain’t watching that

How bad was it? Was the foot ‘hanging’, i.e just dislocated, or was there actually bone penetrating the soft tissue and coming out through the skin?

Same mate. Don't want to see it again

As players do every match played. Our players do aswell. Normally nothing comes of them. You see far worse challenges in most games which don't result in injuries. Not saying it's not a red Card, but the intention was clearly just to bring him down. If that makes him a horrible rotter then every player I've ever seen is a horrible rotter. Horribly unfortunate for André.

You go in recklessly in a retaliatory manner with no intention of playing the ball then yes you are a horrible rotter. The risk of serious injury is always there.

His challenge doesnt even do anything, just knocks him off balance like he obviously intended.

Again, this happens 3-4 times in every game every week. If Aurier doesnt come in there he falls over and gets a foul

If you look at the way Gomes is falling after Son 'tackles' him, he is way off kilter, it seems the fall is what's caused the injury, Son, despite the ball having left, still 'tackles' with intent though, Aurier just compounds it.
Tackled with intent on a proper snidey Suarez like way. Complete sh*thousery.
No excuses.
