2020/21 Andre Gomes

Gomes won a ball in midfield and used his strength to keep it on one occasion and actually gained a yard to ready himself for a forward pass and yet Richie and DCL stood there next to there markers not even attempting to run into space to receive then Gomes once again had to fend off the attention and got himself free again with still no movement from the front 2 so he had to play a sideways pass. I sat watching and I am sure I could hear the groans from haters country wide moaning at a sideways pass. Sometimes he cannot win. Most of the time midfielders will play a sideways pass when the lazy sods upfront go into hiding. Complain about the front 2 then the old chestnut comes out......'they didn't get any service'............I wonder why.

At fault for the first goal. I mean it was better than his usual pathetic displays but ultimately he did nothing again. Rarely wins a tackle, doesn't set up chances. Doesn't score.
I have no clue how he makes the starting 11 on such a regular basis

If your looking for someone to blame then I suppose Gomes is an easy target nowadays. Replay the build up and look at others that were also culpible for the goal

He was good in the first half as well. Frustrating because he is quite good when is on it but that doesn't come anywhere near often enough.

I think it is becoming more regular. Some people just have to let the red mist disperse to see it.

He was too strong for their midfield but probably could have done better with the final ball.
