All things considered eg age, cost, wages, he shows more effort and passion than most in the team..

Its not so much about "replacing" Townsend.

He's 30 and has zero competition for a place...if hes out (suspended/injured) then we have no one else suited to right wing.

On the left it should be Gray/Gordon....but then none of DCL, Richarlison or Townsend have competition for places.

I think looking at their ages we could bring in a younger player to rotate with or start over Townsend for the above reasons.

Yep, he never stopped running, never stopped trying, put in a better of a ball that Coady nearly put into his own net.

Only him, Pickford and Richarlison hit any kind of acceptable level and Delph and Gordon the same when they came on.

He’s a very mediocre Prem player. And so is Gray tbh, although he has a higher ceiling.

Think people got a bit too excited too early.
