Got John Terry and Ferdinand for all the leadership stuff though so Keane aint going in!

I've always rated Van Der Sar but didnt he have a massive dip before he came to the prem? I mean he went to Fulham and no one were really knocking down his door to buy him. He goes to Man Utd and he's back to being world class again.

I think Given, and to a point Jaaskelainen, just show to me that even though they play for poor teams, they are the stand outs. Given can save a team points and has done for Citeh and Newcastle, Citeh would've have lost plenty of games if it wasnt for him and he's done it consistantly over the years.

Not so sure he had a massive dip, the coaches at Juventus ruined his confidence and blamed him for just about everything. Any player without confidence, can't perform to his fullest abillity. He got that confidence from SAF though and the same goes for every national team manager he played under.

Good shout this. Henry was wasted at Juventus. Can't remember Arsenal having a lot of competition to sign him at the time. It was Wenger who restored his confidence.

I get the impression most people think Terry is a better defender than Ferdinand. Personally I think it would have been interesting to see how Rio would have done in a safety first team like Chelsea, and how JT would have fared in a more attack minded team like Utd.
Prefer Puyol at his peak over either of them for this team though. And up front Think Ronaldo (The Brazilian one) would be in for Shearer.

Maybe van der Sar was helped by a very good back four, but it also works the other way around. If your goalkeeper breathes confident, your backline will play with confidence also. Also, looking at the back four for Holland, it has always been the shakey part of the team, yet van der Sar has always been head and shoulder everybody.

You're right about about Vieira being the better player footballing wise, but Keane was a great leader on the pitch wo would die playing for the shirt. Definately love that in a player.

Van der Sar was average-good at Fulham, he defo wasn't anything special and no Fulham fans cried when he split. Plus Van der Sar almost cost Man Utd the C-league title with his rubbish play 2 years ago and single handedly made that prem title alot closer that it should have been. He was the glaring weak link in that side that year. Friedel and Given are much better keepers. I also think Reina and Jaskellien are better.

Friedel

Neville (PHIL!!)
Campbell
Ferdinand
Cole (do I have to pick him?)

Veira
Giggs
Lampard (can't believe some people left him off)
Gerrard (Keane was better but I have Veira at his position)

Shearer
Henry

Your opinion, just stick to it, no problem with that.

I rate van der Sar as one of the very best in world football and nothing is gonna change my mind.(y)
