Easy to say that in hindsight but Barkley was very good under Martinez and in Koemans first season.

Lads pushing on well lets hope he can keep it up. Still think he needs to polish off his end product if he's to become next level quality but that will hopefully come with experience.

Barkley does not know when to pass, when to dribble, when to release the ball to teammates in a better position.

Gordon is tactically more mature and contributes more if you compare both of them at the same age

People talk about having 'leaders' in the team, well this lad is already proving to be the main one in our side despite his relative lack of experience. He's come on a ton this season and made a place in the team his own.

Certainly captaincy material in the future.

If we’d have signed this lad from say Holland or Brazil and he’d shown what he has this season, we’d all be wetting ourselves with excitement at just how good he could be in a few years time.

I honestly hadn’t seen the hype until fairly recently. But I’m all aboard the train now.

Barkley plays with his head down, Gordon plays with his head up. Similar talents and abilities but you cant see the game with your head down. I'd have Gordon over RB without fail every time

Just seems to be a good lad! Definitely doesn’t seem to have the traits of a cocky young premier player who thinks he’s a superstar! I think his character is to keep his head down and work harder in his game, he obviously loves the club too. If I was 20 playing for Everton and putting in 7/8 out 10 performances consistently I’d be a nightmare, going out on the town giving it the big one?
