We’re in a win/win situation for once here.

If he stays we keep him - great.

If he goes we can use the chance to further improve the squad.
Unless it rumbles on and on, until he puts in a Transfer Request on deadline day and we don’t have time to use the funds wisely.

Not saying it will happen, but the possibility is worrying.

We've lost Bernard, Rodriguiz, Digne, Gylfi, Richarlison and maybe Gordon - while DCL has been cocked for a calendar year.
Bernard was rubbish, James had zero interest in us, Digne down tools and was crap for 18 months, Sig would be out of contract by now and most fans slagged him off anyway, Richarlison is a miss of course but Gordon doesn't offer much.
From that list only Richarlison is a miss

Here Is another option. Sell Gordon for 45 but insist on Broja on loan. If Chelsea balk, we are no worse off. If they agree, then spend on a quality player or two next summer instead of overpaying with just a couple of weeks or so left in this window.

Heard we've driving this deal aggressively:
  • £35m paid up front
  • Broja on loan with option to buy for £20m
  • Gallagher on loan with option to buy for £25m
  • 20% sell-on clause and first option on Gordon if he's ever for sale
  • Chelsea must purchase 50 tickets for each of the first 7 nights showing of Bill Kenwright's new production of Blood Brothers, live soon in the West End.
