He's a promising player who should be in and out of the team but because we are desperate and stripped the team of goals/assists he's our creative hope

Look at likes of Richy, Mane, Salah, Son - can play wide or central if needed and at least cause problems.

Gordon for me is a decent squad player but nothing more.

He's certainly better in the wide areas but the fanbase have hyped him up way too soon.

Question:

What teams and positions were Richarlison, Mane, Salah and Son playing in at 21 and what were their performance levels...?
 

With the current squad I'd be considering switching to a 532 and losing the wide forwards. Gordon doesn't produce enough at this stage, Gray looks like a sub 2m player, McNeil I just don't get, Townsend is injured - maybe finished and Dele isn't a winger. We're currently trying to accommodate wingers we don't really have. Put 3 in the midfield and use the wingbacks to attack with width.
 
Definitely not a player that warrants a regular place in the starting line up. Does a lot of running and pressing, but on the ball he’s too lightweight, poor decision making and can’t cross a ball - playing him in the middle of a 3 is just an absolute sign of desperation. Mad that Everton hyped him up this summer with this ‘Gordon’ stuff and giving him the no.10 shirt JUST to ward off the barcodes… done nothing in an Everton shirt to warrant his supposed status in the squad.

He should be a bit part player but unfortunately the club is trying to convince everyone he's the next great thing which he's not. I see him as a winger at best because he's got no calmness or attacking instinct to make it as an attacking forward. If he allows us to purchase some forwards with quality then would sell today.
 
Goes to show how mental things are that the club thinks there was no need to replace richarlison when they had AG in the squad. We need goals and it’s clearly a burden on the guy when the club are giving him the no. 10 and Lampard plays him week in week out.
