I think most fans would consider £50 million for Gordon a great price. We might waste it, but if we can’t sign a player that brings more than Gordon currently does then we deserve relegation.

That's what I fear. I have seen or heard nothing that says we will be better as a result of reinvestment. V worrying times.

Ludicrous club they built up a kid who had one decent season in the first team because we sold everyone else marketable because we are in a financial black hole of their own making. Then he becomes starboy and Chelsea pay 50m for our number ten, who has proved very little so far. How far have our standards fallen that we accept this nonsense? He should have been in and out of the team the pressure on his shoulders is and was absurd, as it is we are lucky Chelsea have decided to buy him because he will only ever be pretty good in my view he won't do it there either. They will send him out on loan somewhere eventually.
