Financially, it makes sense to sell him, no doubt that a £60m offer is a great one.
BUT
I think for a team that will be scrapping this season, that standing our ground, sends a great message to the rest of the league and to AG's teammates. He is clearly professional enough, as he is so obviously displaying currently, to put his head down and to keep performing even if his preference is to leave.
I hope we put a stake in the ground, hold firm and keep him. His value at worst remains the same at the end of the season, and it gives us the opportunity to benefit from his play and prepare a proper replacement.
Frank clearly wants that to happen.
