When Gordon first came into the side he was immediately given responsibility for taking set pieces, that can only be because he was very effective in training yet he found it very difficult to deliver. If you watched at Youth level he was a clean striker of the ball.
The heart rate is down in training, the pressure isn’t intense. He’s a bit headless in PL, he lacks composure when opportunity comes to deliver or shoot.
