He missed training and travelled to London to agree personal terms with Newcastle. Not saying the club didnt need the money but he's not been forced out like.

If we didn't sell him though, we weren't buying anyone IMO. I mean, look at the date and we've signed no one.

He had to go. 100%.

Against that backdrop I just wonder...

As I say, I've lost any trust or confidence in Everton's board.

Maybe I'm also just tired of whenever we sell a player they have to be a Judas rat and it wasn't the clubs fault at all.

Again. He HAD to be sold. Like Richarlison did. The board have dictated that.

I'm not sure what the fuss is. Massively overrated and we've got a good fee.

Lets be honest, he has been crap this season which is mostly because he didn't want to be here anymore and had downed tools and that is what has direspected the club and the supporters more than any of his antics this week. There is simply no excuse for it and it was unprofessional and costly. We all knew that Richy wanted to go for a long time but look at how he handled it. Respectably and gave it his all right till the end. Richy was a much bigger loss than Gordon.

Having said all that though, today shows how pathetic and unprofessional our club is ran when they couldn't even bring themselves to rise above it all and at least wish the lad good luck for the future.

Good luck lad and thanks for the money. lol

Do you think the "Everton board" will actually turn up when we play Arsenal?

Why do people fail to remember that Rodwell was a highly talented young player who quickly became very injury prone. City came in and we had to snap their hand off. Rodwell was not up himself, agitating for moves or anything, it was just physically too much and City could afford the risk.
Yeah he was decent young player but you only have to watch the Sunderland documentary to see how much he had thrown in the towel, injuries play a part but if he was highly talented he would still have had a decent top flight career, he didn’t.
If I remember correctly, City at the time were struggling for home grown players, he was just bought as part of the quota.

The club did try for Danjuma though...

I dont disagree with any of that but he's also been a massive tit.

Richarlison wasn't.

He may be great in the future or, he may like Barkley and Rodwell underachieve. My money is on the latter, I'm not sure he has the application to fully realise his undoubted potential. The first lesson he needs to learn is that good footballers play with their heads up and there eyes open, the next lesson he needs to learn is that he is still a long way from being a top player and that if he doesn't work hard on the training ground and listen to his coaches he will not make it.

My opinion is that the kid has been convinced that he is far better than he actually is, this may, ultimately, result in him failing to be as good as he could be. Either way, Newcastle have taken the gamble on him which we can not afford to do. The 40 million is worth far more to us than Gordon is.
