I don’t hate El Ghazi as a player and I’m relieved it’s only a loan, but my issue is that his minutes are almost certainly going to come at the expense of Gordon at least a little. Benitez to his credit has been using Gordon extensively, but I absolutely do not trust him to continue that once DCL and Richy are back. Once they are it will be them two up top, Gray left. There’s no way in hell Townsend or El Ghazi should be playing ahead of Gordon for a single minute this season. But do you trust Benitez to see that? Because I don’t. If we were signing an attacker it should have been a proper back up ST or a winger who improves our XI.

If Gordon is tiring/not performing and we are looking for a goal I would rather bring on khazi than our 3rd choice gk, tosun or Rondon.

If we're smart we won't sign him at all.
If we're just a bit stupid we'll wait until the end of the transfer window and sign him for £1-2m.
If we're morons we'll sign him next week for £7m using what's left of the Digne money.

Guess which one I think will happen.

Beats me, plenty of rumours going round that Benitez doesn’t actually want him and this is Moshiri doing his mate Kia Joorabchian a favour. Knocked him back a few times but Mosh kept pushing apparently. Don’t know how true that is of course but our overlord Bobble has said it so I’m happy to believe it.
