People in Gascony don't do pizza, too many other good things to eat!

True.

When presented with this question pre expatriation how would you have answered @mascoq66700 ?

Welcome. Many years ago I did the GR10 from the Atlantic over to your way (got snowed off the Pic de Canigou at the end). Nice part of the world.

Excellent - did you do the complete walk? On my bucket list of things to do!

Do it. Seriously.

Went all the way from St Jean de Luz to the Pic de Canigou and then got caught in a snowstorm coming down, so ended up in a bus to Perpignan. Going to sound all non-GOT and serious for a moment, but I reckon it changed me permanently spending so long away from other people, phones, day-to-day worries, etc. Four weeks just walking on your own with few distractions, staying in bothies and occasionally pitching up in civilisation when you needed a shower or some red wine and French food. You don't realise how many distractions there are in real life which stop you thinking about what matters.

I can look out of the window and see the Canigou, still has a little snow left on it.As for food when I first came to France in the mid 90s and the first Mc D's opened,I thought, that won't last, but the beer helps I suppose. As for pizza, the Catalans are very experimental with food so it's a yes to pineapple.

If i can get a ticket I'm going to the game to see my local team Girona get into La Liga,I'll ask around for the general views on pizza and exotic fruits and report back

Just to update, they did an Everton.needing a win in the last game for automatic promotion to La Liga for the first time in their history they conceded an 88 minute equaliser, but there was always the play offs! Then
Segunda playoffs: Zaragoza shock Girona | Football Espana
Real Zaragoza staged the mother of all comebacks by overturning a 3-0 deficit against Girona on Sunday to reach the Segunda playoff final. The Aragon side looked dead and buried from the first leg of their semi-final tie, but they will now vie with Las Palmas for a place in La Liga next season courtesy of 4-1 away-goal triumph at Montilivi. After the game nobody seemed in the mood to discuss pizza.
