Since I went into working at special Hospitals,sadly nothing suprises me any more,the culprit is treated like a victim,He comes from a one parent home or its drug induced ect and the real victim is forgotten.A good example one guy in our care had been molesting a niece from the age of 2 until it was discovered when she told her mum at the age of 8 so he went through the system and as even criminals do not like these people he was transferred to us because of behavioral problems so the guy treating him writes to the kids parents asking them to come and visit him and to bring the child so he could see he was not hated by the family and was not really a bad person just sick and this would help him recover.The reply received was just two words.

I can picture the letter now.

'Dear Mr and Mrs ___, could you please bring your child in...........'
 
There comes a point where we injure society when we give too much attention to the perpetrators of violence. These kids seem to think that they are permitted to do anything and that, if anyone objects, they can just scare them into submission. Let's hope that they don't have too great a time of it inside.
 

where I used to live before moving here 4years ago a guy in the pub had a son sent down for life,and he was saying then that lifers can have sky sports in their cell for a couple of pound a week I know loads of law abiding people who can not afford even basic sky.:@

Danny if the public knew one half there would be outrage ..a welsh guy got divorcr papers so the pyscho treating him got him permission for a home visit Unsupervised to try to talk her round ,he went home and raped his mother in law and his sister in law and battered his wife then returned to the hospital calm as you like.he knew he would not get out so he was basically bullet proof I can not give names because of the official secrets act as we are still bound by it for so many years aftr you leave.

The problem in your line of work, is that people are being treated for mental disease. Therefore, they are always viewed as victims to be made better. I'm sure the initiatives work sometimes. But I'm equally sure that a lot of people on the outside suffer when it doesn't.
 
The problem is we as nurses are with them all day every day the people that make these decisions see them once a week,and the patients soon learn to act as the guy treating them wants,I lost count of the times at tribunals which decide if they are safe to be allowed back in society when the ward staff have said no but the Phys say yes and the lay person thinks hes more qualified than the nurse and vote with him thats why there is such a high number of re offenders.

It is unfortunate but when you get someone paid to make important decisions, he or she often believes that they have the type of special insight, that others simply don't have. It is not always the case that this true, but it does happen with alarming regularity. It is often in social work that we see the so called experts have been patently wrong in their analysis of a particular situation.

bring back the rope. no insanity indemnities, if they are that crazy then they will feel tortured when they aren't committing their evil acts so let them do the saddam shuffle.

i hate the way the victims are simply reffered to as goths all the time, it's just a fashion they follow and they are still people, if it's raver/skinhead/punk/ etc then they aren't reffered to by the fashion they follow.
