Appeal over Goth murder

I live just down the road from Bacup where this was commited and it was a disgraceful crime

The thing is this is a quiet Lancashire town not Manchester or Liverpool so for it to happen round here made it a bit more shocking, personally i think hanging is too good for anyone who can kill someone they think look different to them, i've got a 1 year old and an 8 year old and it makes me worry about what kind of world i've brought them into

I'm only 29 and i grew up in care so i've had more fights than 90% of people but when i was a teenager if you had a fight you'd never dream of shivving someone 'cos them days that was the sign of a shitbag who couldn't fight with their hands but now it seems like it's a badge of courage to carry a knife

The fact that they get caught carrying a knife and get a caution because the jails are full doesn't exactly put them off though, what are you going to do with a 10' meat cleaver, but they still get off scott free, if someone is willing to carry a knife then they are willing to use it and that should carry a MINIMUM 2 year sentence without parole, it's the only way to cut it out before it spreads even further

I've lost 1 of my best friends and 1 of my nephews because of people carrying knives so thats why my views are so strong but i'm not the only 1 and it needs to stop getting worse

Baz when I was working it seemed more likely to be from area that would not be expected although it could be that them sort of incidents stick in your mind .As for carring knives when I was 14-15 A quite lad lived near us and was getting bullied on his way to visit his Nan and his mum not knowing insisted he went ,so he decide to take a knife to scare them off, but one of the thugs called his bluff and the lad stabbed him and ended up doing 5 years.if there had been a law with a jail sentence for carring a knife he would not have done 5 years and the lad he stabbed would still be here.
