does anyone know if he played in the first leg of the anderlecht game or was he injured. (is he deffo free to play in europe?)

A player can't really pass a medical if he is injured - the only time we have done it is with VDM; that didn't go to well, although his injury did clear.

Not bothered about losing him periodically to internationals, as long as we get him.

I know he's 26, but 5 million seems low for a player of his quality. Actually I wouldn't have had a problem if Moyes used all 12 million they offered for Fernandes on Appiah.

I don't mean to sound pessismitic but I see a bidding war on the horizon or Febernache holding on to him until January and waiting for the best offer. *keeps finger crossed that I'm wrong all the while wondering what number he'll wear*

Agreed, I don't see how 5 million would be the going rate for this guy (unless that knee injury is more serious...) To get a deal done in 2 days, it takes an overwhelming offer to the other club. (Not a panic buy, but substantial cash for substantial quality)

We do still have to afford to pay his and Yak's wages don't forget. Splashing all 12m might be a bad idea.
Saying that though they were going to pay 12m for Manny and pay him a wage too so who knows :blink:

interesting story re appiah and an attempted move to germany in the summer.

The story says they want 10 million pounds plus for him and that they have offered to double his wages to 55k a week to make him sign a new deal.

Move over everton, hello spurs and west ham.

Could all be a crock of [Poor language removed] to get the price up though.

Also read reports that his injury is slight and he has personal problems - along the lines of "get me to England quick".
