Over 90% of Spurs fans were against the ESL. Not sure why we should.be punished because our billionaire owner wanted even more money.
I'm sure supporters of Wrexham, Leeds, Portsmouth, , Coventry, Sheffield Wednesday etc etc all felt the same. Strangely they didn't have billionaire owners yet all got hammered and all the fans were punished through no fault of their own!
Enlighten us as to why you lot and the rest of the six should be any different?

Gutted for the fans (genuinely) BUT it is impossible to punish the owners without it affecting the fans and the owners HAVE to be punished.
Any action of club owners has an affect on fans, simple as that.
Would you have celebrated any future success brought about by the actions of your owner? Damn right you would, so unfortunately you need to also accept punishment for his actions

There ought to be a European ban, a points deduction and a chunky fine.

UEFA are being as gutless as you'd expect over this, so it's unlikely there'll be a European ban. But if the points deduction is big enough, that's tantamount to a one-season ban anyway.

The "don't punish the fans," thing can get straight in the bin. The reasonable fans of these clubs I've spoken to want punishment for their clubs. This whole thing is an existential threat to the sport and it needs treating as such.

At the end of the day, if you’re happy to bask in reflected glory when your club’s owners bring you trophies and top managers and spend huge money on players, you should suck up the punishment when your owners are being scheming little snakes and trying to destroy football. You can’t pick and choose when to be associated with the club.

This and the ‘anyone would have done the same’ attitude just shows them for what they are. It proves the point. Entitled scabs.

They were always going to be, but they should be the most severe, as it was their competition which was most in jeopardy.

"We welcome back Manchester City".... are you messing? They've left you to rot and die, and you "welcome" them back.... says it all, doesn't it?

Barcelona and Real Madrid have yet to withdraw, do you think they will get any sanctions? Absolutely no way.

1 year ban from all UEFA competition.
And a 30 point deduction start of next season.
I don't buy into "you're punishing the fans".
They have no problem marching down streets and putting up signs when they want to get owners attention for not spending enough, or not sacking a manager, or wanting them to sell to a richer owner.
Well they can do all that and more to get them out of their club for treating it as a toy.

Perfectly worded, I shall be using this answer in all my communication with 5hithouses everywhere banging that drum.

This situation was brought about through a financial arms race to spend on players. The perilous position of club finances has now been dramatically exposed by COVID.
Some of them are in real danger of financial meltdown. We are not isolated from this situation.
Hammering them in till they fold will bring the whole house of cards down, us included.
Relegations or massive fines will mean they have to resurrect the ESL as a way to survive.
Be very careful what you wish for.
