100% guess work, nothing I ever written in this thread has anything fact related, its just my view point really.

Thats what you do in forums tho surely mate?

Sure, I appreciate that we'll seldom have the full facts but a few might be nice before we all jump to conclusions :) Does anyone know the full share register for instance? ie who owns what.

Yes Gaz, what you say is correct, we really are having a go at the wrong person. But Kenwright is the figurehead, the buck stops with him, he wants the praise, so he must carry the flack.

Surely you agree with that?

I do mate. I agree.

I am just defending him a bit. He is not going to point fingers at who may or may not want to sell. And yes, he wants the praise. But he does not shy away from the flack also. Surely he deserves some credit for that.

I have said many times that we need a new chairman and so has he. We just do not know the black and white behind why we can't or won't sell

it's so easy to have a go at kenwright now its almost lazy. two 5th place finishes and a cup final. imagine if we had just achieved that with major investmant. everyone would be delighted. i'm missing the point here where the problem is? we are flying high... i've always been more interested in results on the pitch than everton football club's bank balance.

every pre season the same people are predicting we are going to be overtaken by half of the premier league. just wait until the first post saying we will finish behind sunderland!!! we have a great team and a great manager, and just like every team apart from the champions, we are a couple of players away from true greatness!!! ho hum!

Daft question here, why would a buyer want all of the shares rather than just the controllling majority shares that Kenwright has?

I think he controls the majority of the shares. I do not believe he actually owns them all himself(mini syndicate type thing). I could be wrong though.

We need a list of who actually owns what.

So he has to convince several shareholders to all sell to one buyer at one price, which might be a problem?

That was my point a couple of posts ago mate.

Obviously Bill is the fan that has the shizzle hitting it(as he is the chairman), but is he the one actually to blame.

Unfortunately we just do not know the exact problem. And unlike other clubs we do not do our business in the media. Good in some respects, bad in others.

BK is the major share holder within True Blue holdings along with Robert Earle and 2 other dudes.
True blue own 71% of EFC, BK also owns his own personal stake.

That's what I heard, anyway.

Just like to clear things up here - I am not anti Kenwright.

I am Pro-Everton FC.

Theres a percentage of shares somebody must reach, once they reach this figure, then all other shareholders HAVE to sell their shares to them. Im being very vague, but I recall when the Glaziers first made a move on United, my old boss was a United shareholder, once they bought all the major shareholders and reached this magic figure, my boss had no choice but to sell his shares.

Getting a controlling interest isnt that difficult, you just have to pick off the major shareholders 1 by 1, but if these major shareholders are greedy money grabbing *cough*, then it then becomes more difficult.
Isn't controlling interest where you can force others to sell 80% or more? So it's not really that simple.

The point I was making is that because Kenwright wants to stay on as Chairman and play with someone else's money, why doesn’t an invester buyout the 2 other major shareholders and pump money into the club like like the guy who bought out Sunderland has done? I'm sure it’s the same at Arsenal. Isnt their an American investor who owns a large chunk of Arsenal and is almost a few shares off buying the club outright?
Why would this person willingly hand out money to Kenwright without any return? What you suggest just doesn't make sense. I don't know the situation at Sunderland.

Thing with Everton is, Woods does what Kenwright wants. It's very unlikely he would go against him. These two guys own about 16,500 of the 35,000 shares (47%). Minor shareholders own some 5,600 shares, and these people won't sell unless forced. Earl has little under 8,000 shares, and there are a few others with 1,000+ shares (Abercromby, Lord Grantchester).

I would bet Earl would sell his shares if he got a modest profit, but even if him and Woods sold their shares, the new owner would only own about 14,000 shares or 41% of shares. Without Kenwright the buyer would need to get these and a number of others to give up their shares to gain a majority. Since minority shareholders own 16% of the shares (and as I said these are unlikely to sell even at a good price) it is pretty clear that all three major shareholders have to sell if someone else wants majority.

Whoever buys Kenwrights shares will still have to answer other major shareholders they maybe dont want on the board. Maybe its that some buyers what the whole club and not just a controlling half because they'll have to answer to other people if they do something silly.

If the other shareholders aint happy with who takes over, they can oust him out - did they do that with Agent Johnson? So if Kenwright sold his 40% and the remaining 60% don’t like who they sold it too and what he's doing, that 60% would either want out (and lose out on money they'd make if they stayed on) or have a go at getting rid of him.

Hypothetical ramblings really. Maybe that's completely wrong. Its just guess work for why, as Kenwright put it, "nobody has called back" or IF Kenwright wants to stay on at Everton but wants money to play with.

It is obvious that whoever buys Everton will buy out all three major shareholders. That's the only way it will happen.

There can't be too many reasons why every other team seems to have been sold and not Everton. The excuses are running thin. There are people willing to put their own money into the clubs and give the manager substantial funds, so it's not just investors looking for a quick buck. And Everton at the right price would be an interesting proposition, much more so than some of the clubs being bought.

To play devils advovate here (for a change). New guy comes along saying he wants to buy the club, clearly he's going to say he will buy this and buy that. Didn't Gillette and co say they were going to build a new stadium across the road?

The reality of nearly every takeover in English football is that these new owners have spent very little of their own money. Ticket prices rise nearly every time and debt is added to considerably. Even with someone like Abramovich, it remains to be seen what will happen should he decide to leave as none of his investment has been a gift he's prepared to write off.

At Newcastle, Ashey did put his own money where his mouth is and he's lost a small fortune there. It shows the importance of good management. Money in itself is no elixir.

I suppose we should be grateful for Bill, hes done a lot, I mean our debt is now huge and we own very little, apart from the players we have nothing left to sell.

BUT, he has given Moyes as much as he can, that you cant fault him for and ive said countless times, I will never have a go at him for being skint, thats not his fault. Its just frustrating seeing all these clubs get taken over and have major investment, I know hardly any have been a success, but why cant we touch lucky?

I just want more, thats not a lot to ask really, im greedy, we finished 5th, I want 1st or at least a CL place. I know Moyes shares my view.

I think we all share your views buddy.

It just frustrates me that a lot of people put too much venom in their posts and the slander of BK.

At least you put your worries/concerns across with eloquence.

I just sense that having no investment will hurt the club big time one season. Yes, other clubs with money are in debt (which club isnt? And to play with the big boys it come with the territory), and the money men don’t spend their own money. But the thing is, is that they still generate more income, they still attract other investments, and they stay afloat in the big nasty premier league despite how much they owe and spend.

We on the other hand, whenever money comes in, it goes out to keep the club ticking. We have to borrow every year and increase our debt - which isnt very good because its akin to a man with no money borrowing more that he cant payback. It'll bottom out like it did under Johnson, players will have to sold to balance books (Arteta £20mill, Lescott £15mill with 60% of that going to balance the books for eg) the decline will follow not matter what magic wonders Moyes pull out.

I don’t see investment as a mode to be more successful and push the club forward, I see it more as a necessity to just compete/stay in the premier league.

People say that one of the top clubs will go tits up with the amount of cash they owe in the economic climate. I say we can go tits up because of the same thing….and we get nowhere near the cash the top clubs generate a year to even attempt to pay it off.

No digs a Kenwright, I like the bugger. But that's just a fact.
