2024/25 Armando Broja

Are you a fan mate?

I am mate, i think he has a mix of rare skills and qualities, that are begging to be honed - his potential and quality isn't in doubt for me. I see him developing as a hybrid 9 but more of an inside forward - like what Moyes did with Arnautovic at WHU.

Should we do a deal?

Id go back to Chelsea and renegotiate a second loan with a better option - given the leverage of his fitness.

The question is whether we should keep him or not - is less about his quality or potential in my opinion and more a decision on sports science and if his body can hold up to PL football.

I was happy to give him a chance but injuring himself one week kicking the floor and then injured again the next game for weeks, happy for him to go back at end of season. We’ve carried too many injury prone players for too long.

Play him until the end of the season, let him get the buzz of playing regularly here

Then shaft Chelsea with a low ball offer because of his injury problems. They know he’s not going to play for them, he knows it, we know it, and they know they can’t sell him to anyone else for a big fee because of his injury issues. Get him to force a move and we get potentially a good player for a pittance and take the chance on him staying fit.

My thinking exactly on dealing with Chelsea mate, i think leverage is there. As said id go back negotiate a second loan with a lower option.

I think the decision on whether we keep him or not will prob play out in fronr on us in the next few weeks - if we really have intent in keeping Broja i think we will give him mins and have a good look at him over the remaining matches. If not we should pick Chermiti as he will be here. I think we will know by the mins each get until the end of the season.

The other thing with Broja is - its a doable deal - to redirect other resources elsewhere, we could need anything from two - three strikers this window - they aren't cheap - if one in Broja on loan it helps in terms of managing resources.

I’m with you there , particularly the Sports Science bit . Spend 10k or whatever it takes to do a battery of physiological/anatomical tests on him . If there’s an issue , rather than bad luck with injuries , get an opinion on what’s needed and if it’s feasible to do to keep him fit within reason .
