Don’t understand why people are saying this is a bad deal

He’s a good player, far better than what we have
We can’t afford to buy any/many good players right now
3m plus wages to have a player in a position we desperately need sounds good

Lukaku also didn’t have a option to buy at the end of his loan but we still signed him so maybe if we have some cash end of season and he has a good season here he’ll fancy coming back

You could look at it like that, or he may have a ridiculous season and his price skyrockets putting him out of reach.

You can have a loan with an option (at a pre-agreed fee) as opposed to an obligation. A straight loan doesn't really help anyone.
 
A lot of you might end up eating humble pie here.

So many slagging the guy off, but he walks into our team over some of the "lesser lights".

He could bag 10 goals or more, have the same amount of assists, and be one of the players that gives us a decent season instead of relegation battle.

Anyone who goes to the matches and gives him grief should go and sit in the bogs in the ground and think about why when we perform under par how much of it further destroys a players confidence.

It’s a great deal but some love to be forever scorned by the ‘betrayal’ despite the club being as much, if not more, to blame with that entire situation. Sacking the manager hours before signing a player was a great idea wasnt it?
